Founder and Managing Partner

Theodore R. Tetzlaff, in a career spanning over 40 years of law practice, has tried and litigated civil and criminal cases of all sorts throughout state and federal courts. He has served as General Counsel of three multi-billion dollar public companies and has led two of the largest major national law firms. He serves principal and outside counsel to public and private companies; is an active participant in civic, cultural and political affairs; and represents numerous individuals, both with and without means of their own.

Commercial Litigation, Intellectual Property and Insurance Coverage

Jim has 35 years' experience in commercial trials and appeals in cases ranging from debtor-creditor, to fraud, trusts, insurance coverage and intellectual property litigation. His diverse client base has included industrial and transportation companies engaged in anti-trust and unfair trade practice litigation, as well as both banks and commercial borrowers involved in state, federal and bankruptcy litigation. As a partner at Jenner & Block, he defeated a $200 million accounting fraud claim by Deutsche Bank against his industrial client in the German Courts, obtaining a complete dismissal. His insurance coverage victories totaled over $70 million in settlements and trial verdicts over three cases alone. As both an experienced trial and appellate lawyer, as well as a public company general counsel, Jim holds not only a unique perspective on litigation, but also a deep understanding of client strategy and needs.

Alexa D. Tetzlaff

Alexa D. Tetzlaff is licensed to practice in Colorado, Illinois and Washington, D.C. With experience in corporate documentation & structure, litigation, administrative, and regulatory matters, her practice includes a full spectrum of services for business clients, as well as providing guidance for Family Offices and their constituents. Alexa specializes in counseling businesses on start-up procedures, capital acquisition, equity distribution, business valuation, licensing, procedure implementation, and regulatory compliance. She has successfully counseled client-applicants through rigorous permitting processes in several emerging markets across the United States.


Alexa serves on the Professionals' Board of the Sargent Shriver National Poverty Law Center and has previously served on the Associate's Board of the Food Bank of the Rockies. Alexa received her B.A. from the University of Colorado - Boulder in 2005; M.A. from the University of Denver - Josef Korbel School of International Relations in 2007; and J.D. from the University of Denver - Sturm College of Law in 2010.

Joshua A. Redman

Josh practices commercial litigation at Tetzlaff Law Offices.  Licensed to practice in Illinois and New York, Josh previously worked at a large multidisciplinary firm in Manhattan, representing a variety of financial services providers; he also has experience representing individual and corporate clients on diverse claims involving federal laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Federal Communications Act.  Josh has worked on all phases of commercial litigation, from pleadings and discovery through trial, settlement, and appeal.


Josh received his B.A., summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from George Washington University in 2006; and he received his J.D. from the Boston University School of Law in 2009, graduating with Honors in the Concentration in Litigation and Dispute Resolution. Outside of the office, Josh enjoys volunteering at the Lincoln Park Zoo.

Olivia Urso


Olivia practices commercial litigation at Tetzlaff Law Offices, and is licensed to practice law in Illinois. Olivia has experience representing clients in a variety of personal injury matters, including medical malpractice and products liability claims. During law school, Olivia clerked for the City of Chicago Building and License Enforcement Division, where she gained valuable experience with regulatory compliance matters.


 Olivia graduated with her B.A. from the University of Central Florida in 2013 and earned her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2016, along with a Certificate in Advocacy. She is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association. Outside of work, Olivia enjoys cooking and exploring the Chicago restaurant scene. 

Carol Moseley-Braun

Of Counsel

Ambassador Moseley-Braun serves as Of Counsel to the firm, having previously served as the United States Senator from the State of Illinois and as the Ambassador to New Zealand under President Clinton. As an Attorney, Amb. Moseley-Braun was a prosecutor in the United States Attorney's office in Chicago, working primarily in civil and appellate law; her work in housing, health policy, and environmental law won her the Attorney General's Special Achievement Award. In addition to her roles of Ambassador and Senator, Carol has served as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives where she rose to become Assistant Majority Leader. Carol is active in civic and political affairs on both local and national levels, and assists the firm with representation in governmental and regulatory matters.

Victoria Priola

Of Counsel

Victoria's law career of seventeen years includes litigation and transactions in the areas of commercial and business law, class actions, employment, professional liability, commercial real estate, white-collar crime and complex torts. Victoria represents a broad base of corporate clients as well as small businesses, governmental bodies, NFPs and individuals. Her career includes serving as Chief of Staff for an Illinois Supreme Court candidate and serving on the steering committee for a sitting Cook County Commissioner. As an avid health enthusiast, Victoria is a 3 time Ironman Triathlon Competitor, has run 18 national and international marathons, and is a Certified Yoga and Meditation instructor. Victoria serves as the President of the Board of Directors for La Casa Norte.
